SmartPools Powerlap EZ FAQ
What is a SmartPool?
A SmartPool promotes the versatility of the swimming pool. It can be used for lifestyle and recreational purposes, or for therapeutic, medical, rehabilitative and professional athletic applications. It is fitted with a Laminar Propulsion System (LPS) that transforms a conventional swimming pool into an aquatic treadmill.
Is it a swimming treadmill?
It can be enjoyed as a normal swimming pool and as a swimming treadmill.
What is a swimming/aquatic treadmill?
Like running and cycling treadmills, a swimming treadmill allows an individual to go swim for hours on the spot with the advantage of a uniquely designed and patented Laminar Propulsion System (LPS) that moves up to 30,000 litres of water per minute to create a non-turbulent, bubble-free and smooth flow current.
What are the advantages of a swimming treadmill?
A swimming treadmill automatically converts any size of swimming pool into an Olympic size swimming pool. An individual can swim for hours without having to leave the comfort and convenience of his/her location. A treadmill is also generally used for exercising and training purposes. The beauty of the SmartPool is also the fact that the water quality and temperature remains uncompromised, unlike what an individual may experience swimming in the open or larger swimming pools also occupied by other swimmers. Swimming treadmills are also use for medical, rehabilitative and therapeutic applications. The SmartPool’s biggest advantage is that it measures just 4.5m x 2.4m (kindly refer to the Arena Package) and occupies just 12.07 sq m.
How are swimming/aquatic treadmills good for medical, rehabilitative and therapeutic applications?
Exercising in water due to its buoyancy has been scientifically proven to cause less impact on the body’s joints and skeletal system. Resistance created in water is also greater than on land thus enhancing an individual’s strength, stamina, mobility and contributing to a much higher burning of calories. Some individuals have also turned to swimming/aquatic treadmills to lose weight with desired results. Water therapy has also become very popular with individuals suffering from arthritis.
Swimming in general builds endurance, muscle strength and cardio-vascular fitness. It exercises an individual’s entire body from the muscles to the heart and lungs.
How natural is it to swim in the SmartPool treadmill? Because the propulsion system creates a non-turbulent, bubble-free and smooth flow current, the experience is similar to what an individual would normally feel when swimming.
Where does the SmartPool originate from?
The SmartPool is designed, patented and built in Malaysia.
What is the pool constructed of?
The SmartPool has a self supporting structure that minimizes the use of concrete otherwise required in the construction of conventional swimming pools. It is constructed of a strong advanced composite tub, similar to the marine grade material and strength used in the construction of yachts and vessels. It is light, all-weatherproof, extremely robust, strong and durable. The surface finishing uses FGI Australia’s Aquaguard Gelcoat technology tested and proven to prevent the formation of algae.
How is the pool constructed?
The SmartPool is built away from the site and then transported and positioned on top of the foundation, doing away with the inconveniences otherwise incurred as a result of on-site construction works.
Can the SmartPool be customized to an individual’s preference?
Yes, it can be sculpted into the design that the customer wants or prefers.
Can the SmartPool be housed in a condominium or an apartment?
The SmartPool and the Laminar Propulsion System (LPS) was specifically designed to accommodate this purpose. The SmartPool has made it possible for a swimming pool to be scaled down to as small as 4.5m x 2.4m (kindly refer to the Arena Package), occupying just 12.07 sq m.
